Ebbw Fawr Learning Community’s Art Department gets involved with trying to break a World Record and enter the Guinness Book of World Records for the World’s Longest Continuous Landscape Painting whilst doing good for charity.
On Thursday 29th November, Mrs Keohane and Mrs O’Neill attended the event with Cerys Tucker and Ewan Williams who represented of the Art Department extremely well by attending a Photo Call Launch at the Civic Centre in Ebbw Vale organised by the charity Blue Balloon.
Steve Knapik, MBE and WJEC Chief Examiner for Art and Design, organised the event in order to raise awareness of a the Blue Balloon Charity, which has strong links with Reach Out and Touch Romania and Ty Hafan Charities.
Ebbw Fawr Learning Community’s Art Department was lucky enough to be one of only a few selected Art Departments within the Heads of the Valleys area asked to pilot the event within their school.
The students enjoyed meeting the Mayor of Blaenau Gwent in the Council Chambers in order to have their photographs taken with student representatives from other Heads of the Valley Schools taking part in the event for an article to go in the Gwent Gazette regarding the planned World Record attempt.
The event will be piloted within the school next term.
