I was delighted with our examination results this year. This is the third consecutive year of improved results and show clearly that the school is going from strength to strength. There were improvements in all indicators: The Capped 9 Score, Level 2 Inclusive of Maths and English, Science, and Level 1 and 2 performance. These results now compare very well with similar schools across the country. However we are not complacent and are already planning ways in which we can move forward next year.
A quick word about the atmosphere in school on Thursday. It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces and to see so many staff in school celebrating with our children. Schools are about the quality of teaching and the quality of relationships and this came through loud and clear on Thursday.
Usually at this point I would name our very top performing students, however we are committed to celebrating the performance of every student who has worked hard and achieved their potential whatever that potential happens to be. This is the whole point of the new Capped 9 Score as an indicator. In this respect I would need to name nearly all of the 190 students within the year group and not forgetting our awesome Learning Resource Base students. So congratulations to you all, and a huge thank you to our fantastic staff and also to parents and grandparents for their continued support.
I wish all of year 11 the very best for the future and look forward to hearing of your success.
Llongyfarchiadau Mawr
