Over 30 members of staff of Ebbw Fawr Learning Community this week received an unexpected surprise when they received a “Thank You” card as part of the UK wide Teaching Award scheme. All the staff had been nominated in an internet poll by individual students and had no knowledge that they had been nominated.
Ebbw Fawr’s Director Graeme Harkness said
“This a great accolade for all of our staff, for students to make the effort to nominate so many of the staff team really indicates the talent we have here and the difference our staff are making for every student. All 30 plus nominations now go forward for the national Teacher of The Year Awards with the national results to be announced in May”
Chair of Governors Rod Davies said
“This is a tremendous achievement for our staff – to have students taking the time to write and explain why our staff go the extra mile for each and every one of them is a great reflection on our team spirit. “
