I feel proud and privileged to be the Headteacher of Ebbw Fawr Learning Community; an award winning 3-16 campus with state of the art facilities providing a truly modern and inspirational learning environment for your children.
At every point from Nursery to Primary, from Primary to Secondary and from Secondary to the Learning Zone we will provide the best possible education, care and support for your child. Your child will be known and valued; this knowledge will travel with them as they grow. Thereby ensuring that they reach their full potential as independent learners equipped with the broad range of skills they need to lead successful lives in an ever changing world.

The lift will be made available for any person who has a disability which prevents him or her from using the stairs. This disability may be permanent or temporary e.g. broken limbs, medical conditions, etc. A full assessment of the need will be conducted by a member of pastoral staff. This assessment will ensure that all medical needs are properly addressed, gain agreement with parents/carers, where necessary, and provide any necessary training. Regular reviews will be conducted. Contractors/visitors/staff may use the lift when it is necessary to relocate equipment from one floor to another.
Lift keys are available from site management and should be obtained direct from them so that operational instructions can be issued. Procedure for Use Student Use A formal review with student and parent(s)/carer(s) would be conducted and would include the following:
- Number of weeks user is likely to require use of lift (if not permanent need)
- Information given on keyholders/location of keys;
- Identification of a “buddy” to accompany the student when using the lift (parental approval to be sought on this point);
- Agreement from the student to use the lift sensibly and safely. Instructions to be given on procedures in the event of a lift breakdown.
- Instruction on emergency procedures: in the event of an emergency, the lifts would be out of action; therefore a safe area would be identified where student would remain until appropriate staff could arrange for his or her safe removal from the building.

This is the main school canteen. We have three separate lunches – one for Y7, one for Y8/9 and one for Y10/11. Snacks can be bought here at break.
It is also used for the Leader of Learning’s weekly assembly.

Throughout Ebbw Fawr you will find these wonderful skylights which provides natural lighting to the interior of the school. On sunny days, you can feel the warmth radiate down in to the street area.

This is called a revaluation unit which is part of our school's cashless catering system.
You use this machine to put credit on to your catering account so that you can buy snacks/drinks & lunch.

The General Offices
General Offices
The General Offices is a Grade II* listed building. Built between 1913 and 1915 it formed part of the steelworks site. A brand-new modern extension (contrasting with the original building) officially opened on 24 October 2010 and houses the Gwent Archives.
The main building is partially opened with an entrance hall and function rooms together with a 4D cinema.
The Queen officially opened the General Offices as part of her Diamond Jubilee Tour on 3 May 2012 accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh.
As part of the Cultural Olympiad for the London 2012 Olympics, Adain Avion, a mobile art space created from the fuselage of a DC-9 aircraft, visited the General Offices between 1 and 7 July 2012.

This area is kept for Year 7 pupils only up until the October half-term to allow them to settle into school and feel safe.

A kiln is a thermally insulated chamber, a type of oven, that produces temperatures sufficient to complete some process, such as hardening, drying, or chemical changes. Kilns have been used for millennia to turn objects made from clay into pottery, tiles and bricks. Various industries use rotary kilns for pyroprocessing—to calcinate ores, to calcinate limestone to lime for cement, and to transform many other materials.
